What historical detail about Jesus, if any, do you find the most profoundly ironic?

Let’s just stick with the historical detail that basically any Bible scholar and historian (even Bart Ehrman) agrees about Jesus - his crucifixion. A profound ironic thing is that he was crucified at the instigation of people who waited for him for at least about 700 years. This is only because the Messiah they got did not meet their expectations. He was supposed to destroy those Romans and the like. Even more profoundly ironic event is awaiting us in the future when the people who specifically call Jesus Christ as their Messiah will do everything they can to crucify him when he comes back for the second time for the very same reason that he will not satisfy their expectations, i.e. when he will resist putting their human enemies under their feet.
