Being created for worship does not mean an eternal chore. It means that human beings were created for a reality of such perfect happiness that praise becomes its natural language.
Creeds
We believe in the God who sees the hidden chambers of the heart,
who knows the fires that rise within us,
and who calls every soul to humility and truth.
I. My Core Doctrine of Equality: “Decretive Equality” vs “Ontological Distinction”
I'm talking about a double truth:
I believe in the Father,
the eternal Source of all joy,
who made the world not as a prison of toil,
but as a garden for His children to play within His light.
I believe in the Lord of Light,
who made all things to be seen and known,
and in whose presence nothing is lost.
I believe that theft is born of darkness,
that hiding is the root of corruption,
and that secrecy is the shadow of fear.
We believe in the One who speaks from within and from beyond,
whose Word is light both near and far.
He comes as neighbor and as Lord,
as whisper in the heart and thunder on the mountain.
We believe in the Living Word,
Who was, and is, and is forever coming.
We believe that His comings are not delayed,
But unrecognized by eyes grown proud.
He walks the roads of every age,
Clothed in humility, hunger, and mercy,
Seeking hearts that still know wonder.
I believe in one God, the Father,
the source of all being, beyond need and beyond change,
whose glory no praise can increase and no silence can diminish.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
the same yesterday, today, and forever.
I believe he came not as a giant conqueror
but as the frail Messiah,
the servant of the lowly,
the healer of the broken,
the Lamb who was slain.
I believe that obedience to the Father’s will is life itself.
That self-sacrifice is not the path to death but the door into endless being.
I believe that death is seen by witnesses,
yet it is overturned by the Father’s greater mercy.
What appears as defeat is transposed into glory.
