Step 1. Seek the Overlooked
- Intentionally greet or acknowledge someone who is usually ignored (the janitor, cashier, homeless neighbor, quiet co-worker).
- Say something kind or respectful.
- Remember: “Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me.”
Step 2. Choose Mercy over Pride
- When someone wrongs you in small ways (cutting you off in traffic, speaking harshly), resist the urge to strike back.
- Instead, pray quietly: “Lord, help me to show the mercy you have shown me.”
Step 3. Make Room for the Lowly
- At a meal, offer your seat to someone else.
- Let another person speak first in conversation.
- Practice being last so that Christ can be first.
Step 4. Touch Human Need
- Offer tangible help to someone struggling:
- Bring groceries to an elderly neighbor.
- Help carry a bag for a stranger.
- Volunteer time at a shelter or food bank.
- Say to yourself: “Here I serve the frail Messiah.”
Step 5. Spend Time with the Weak
- Visit someone who is sick, lonely, or imprisoned by circumstance.
- Don’t rush to “fix” them — just be present, listen, and share time.
- This mirrors Jesus’ ministry among the overlooked.
Step 6. Embrace Smallness in Daily Life
- Do one hidden act of kindness each day that no one but God sees.
- Celebrate being unnoticed, because this is where the frail Messiah walks.
Step 7. Carry the Cross in Little Ways
- When tasks feel heavy or exhausting, don’t despise them.
- Whisper: “Jesus, you carried weakness too. I walk with you.”
- Let frailty itself become your teacher.
