We believe in the Living Word,
Who was, and is, and is forever coming.
We believe that His comings are not delayed,
But unrecognized by eyes grown proud.
He walks the roads of every age,
Clothed in humility, hunger, and mercy,
Seeking hearts that still know wonder.
We believe that He has visited His world
In every stranger and every sufferer,
In the face of the forsaken,
In the cry of the oppressed,
And in the quiet courage of the just.
We believe that each generation is tested anew:
Whether it will receive Him or turn away,
Whether it will see the glory hidden in meekness,
The power veiled in forgiveness.
We believe that the Kingdom is not postponed
But present among us,
Waiting only to be seen.
The Second Coming is not far away,
For He comes wherever love awakens.
We believe that the end of the world
Is the end of blindness —
The dawn of recognition when all eyes behold
The One who never left.
We confess that He stands at every door and knocks;
That heaven is opened when one heart opens;
That faith is not waiting for His return,
But learning to see His face in all things.
And so we watch, not the clouds,
But the poor, the broken, the merciful —
For there He comes again.
Forever the same, yet always new,
Jesus Christ,
Our Lord who never ceased to arrive.
